Season Summary:

This completes my sixth year as head coach, overall record 52-18. We had a good year competitive groups of Seniors. This season brought a complete change of the Varsity Coaching Staff. Mike Worley helped us in the booth but dropped off the Varsity staff to commit full time to his new job as head basketball coach. Brian Guilfoyle took a one year leave. Last year head J.V. coach Darren Trueblood joined the Varsity staff as offensive coordinator. Ted Meredith came to us from South Florida with 15 years coaching experience and took over the offensive and defensive line. The transition went smoothly both coaches brought in, promoted and taught our philosophy and system, and did a great job. Our season was another success sixth straight year we won the River Bowl, sixth straight year we made the Northern Section Div. I playoffs. We finished 4-1 and second place in the Northern Athletic League. Our pre-season schedule became even tougher this year. Paradise dropped us and we added Pleasant Valley. Our 6 year pre-season record is 25-5. Our offense was not as balanced as we wanted. The passing game will be a major emphasis. Greenhood and Williams did a great job at 2 and 3 back both were break away threats. Defensively for the season we gave up 18 pts a game. We finished the season with two straight shut outs vs. Yreka and Anderson. We held the top two backs in the section (Riggs of Lassen and Picanso of Yreka) to under a hundred yds rushing.
